A Year in Review
When it comes to welcoming in a new year, we don't believe in tossing out the old but rather learning from it and moving on as needed for either learning purposes and or new adventures.
2015 was a year full of fun, exciting adventures, and growth as a family for the Dz Dog household. We've included a bunch of fun links in case you missed something!
This Past 2015:
Dz Dog dad took up canicross and developed a love for trail running, he also wrote our very first guest post! "Canicross - Trail Running with Dogs."
January -
We helped a friend who adopted a dog that ended up being too much for their family, we tried really hard to help them work through her behavioral issues but they ended up returning her to the rescue she came from. It's important to know your limits when looking to adopt a dog, it's also important to take your time and know what you are looking for in a new family member. If the dog has behavioral issues you need to take the time to really question whether you are capable and have the time to deal with the issues, and if it's not a good match it's important to do what is best for both your family and the dog. In this case, it was better that they not keep Robin. We look at this as a lesson learned, not a failure on the family's part.
"Agility Practice at Home"
Sadly in June we had to stop agility training "I Love My Veterinarian", Ziva has bad knees. To put it simply, our vet said her stifle is too straight, and all the sharp turns were causing her to limp.
"Soothing Sore Dog Throats" - Dante and Ziva picked up kennel cough from their doggy daycare.
We got to doggy sit our first former foster Tex-Anna while her family went out of town. So we took the pups to the beach! "Sand Puppies"

"A Dog Kind of Week" - I tried really hard to just concentrate on getting my degree finished up and keep the doggy drama down, but the universe had different ideas. It started with a dog named Rebel: "You Don't Deserve That Dog", he was just running around on our street and a family who had no idea how to handle a dog was trying to catch him. We stepped in because it was turning into a dangerous situation.
We then helped re-home two different dogs from two different families (friends of friends) who know that we work with dogs and promote rescue.

I finally graduated with my Bachelor's of Science! "Me, Myself, & Jack"
We did lots of playing at the river! "Water Dogs" & "Water Paradise"
We took a big family hike with all three dogs to "Rebel Rock Trail, Oregon"
Hiked "Lookout Point Reservoir, Oregon".
Also in September:
Had an amazing girls weekend (plus Dante), and we hiked Broken Top in Bend Oregon!!

Jack was finally adopted! "Jack is Heading Home" & "My Journey With Jack"
We're still in contact with his family and he will always hold a special spot in our hearts.
