Tylees Pork Jerky - Human Grade Dog Treats!

Human Grade you ask?

Look at this beautiful piece of jerky!
"We were sent Blue Buffalo Santa Snacks from Chewy.com in exchange for an honest review. Dz Dogs only supports products that we feel are relevant to our readers. This blog contains NO affiliate links, all thoughts and opinions are our own."

As a matter of fact yes! Ingredients? Pork Sirloin.

Made & Manufactured in the USA. Does it get much better than that?

What we like about these?

They are clean to handle, super easy to rip apart to divvy out small training sized portions for the dogs, they smell like pork, look amazing, and had us all drooling! In fact Dz Dad walked in didn't see the "Treats for Dogs" label and immediately thought I had got them for him! Hahahahaha!  He was a bit disappointed to find out they were for the dogs.

These treats fit all the boxes for healthy and awesome dog treats, if your pup doesn't have a pork allergy you really can't go wrong.

Even Belle wanted in on the treats! And she is kind of a snob about her food..she won't take any cat treats I've even tried dehydrated salmon! She loves her kitty food obsessively, catnip, and stealing human food...maybe that's the key, she thought she was stealing Dz Dad's treats.

The dogs were a bit miffed at having to share with the cat. I think it's because I make them work for their treats.

"Mom... you're officially on the naughty list for making me wear these to get a treat."

100% Dz Dog Approved!!

Thank you Chewy.com for sending these delicious snacks!!

Kringles Cookies!!

Have You Been
Naughty or Nice?

"We were sent Blue Buffalo Santa Snacks from Chewy.com in exchange for an honest review. Dz Dogs only supports products that we feel are relevant to our readers. This blog contains NO affiliate links, all thoughts and opinions are our own."
Only good dogs get Santa Snacks!

Ziva swears she was good this last year!
These two were champs this last year of living in a trailer while our house was being built, and moving into a house again was super easy. No separation anxiety issues, no destroyed furniture or other "non doggy" items...no counter surfing or garbage diving, and after not living with our kitty Belle for a year and half (she stayed with my mom while we built) they seamlessly welcomed her back into our home!

Very.....

Good.

Dogs.

Thank you Chewy.com for the yummy treats!!

Blue Buffalo's Oatmeal Cinnamon Santa Snacks smelled like Christmas when we opened the bag and the pups couldn't get enough!!

Santa's Elves!

Santa's Elves

It's almost Christmas! How did that happen?!

It feels like we hit the ground running and have barely stopped to take a breath, we moved into the house, rolled right into Thanksgiving and BOOM next week is Christmas.

We're not worried however, we're ready for it - we've been practicing.

Fall In Southern Oregon

Hmmmmmm......
So Lovely.

Just when you think you're done, you're not. And that's where we at on the house. It's not a bad thing, it's just life. Before we moved I had a job that allowed me to spend an enormous time here on the blog, after we moved life became about the house, fixing up our property, building, building, building....etc. And now I have a new job! I do love my new job, but I really enjoy being here with you readers and writing about our adventures.

The dogs I should mention, love the house!! Although they are starting to go crazy - we haven't been exercising as per our usual routine....they haven't gone full on CABIN FEVER crazy like they did last fall in the trailer.

It's a balancing act, like anything else. Belle I should mention is really blooming! She hasn't been part of this blog much until now, but I should mention she was here long before the dogs were. I can hardly believe she's seven years old! We adopted her a year after we were married, when apartment life didn't lend itself well to the keeping of dogs.

Although our adventures have slowed somewhat due to the short and dark winter days we still try to make the most of it! Yesterday we managed a hike! Silly me only took one photo...ooops not sure how I managed that one. But it was gorgeous, foggy, and not too cold. Perfect for hiking.

I'm rededicating myself to making our adventures happen despite the short days, stay tuned more to come!

Where Have The DzDogs Been?

Hello, Can You Hear Me?

Where have we been?

Well we haven't been lying around, just in case you were wondering.

We've been working our tails off getting into this BRAND NEW HOUSE!!!

We finally did it!

Here is the loft, this is our fun space - or dog zone. Lots of zoomies, wrestling, and movie snuggling is what this space is meant for. We just finally got out couch upstairs along with our tv, and at some point (when we finish up the rest of the things we need to do) we'll be putting a wet bar in the back corner of the bar.

Master Bedroom -

Living Room -

Solar powered pibbles anyone?
Anyways, this sorry this is a short post. We're tired but we are settling in, the dogs love our new house and haven't had any issues adjusting. I though maybe we would have to start over on our crate training at least for the beginning period but I think I was just being paranoid.

Today on my way out of the door to go to work I pottied the dogs, and then they disappeared - to the couch that is. "Whatever mom, bye!"   Ziva knew exactly where she wanted to go after having to potty in the cold wet rain, after drying off she found her place on the couch and made it quite clear that she wasn't budging to even say goodbye to me.

Dante? Ya, same story. He loves his sister so wherever she is curled up, there he is!

We're hoping to get back into pictures and blogging soon just stay tuned! For more house pics (and yes i'm still catching up) visit us at: https://twopitsinapod.wordpress.com/

New Jobs!

Life Has Been Busy!

We're still here, we haven't gone anywhere. So please forgive the lack of response, and thank you furfriends for hanging in there!

The house is really finally starting to take shape and we couldn't be more thrilled!  *Pardon the mass amount of !!!!*

Just to catch you up a bit on what's going on with the Dz Dogs. Life couldn't be better. I've personally picked up a second job that is turning out to be a blast! (Not like I was busy enough building a house I had to add a second job...) But I love both of my jobs and it keeps life interesting, don't worry though the dogs are not in the least bit left out, they have new jobs too!

Dante
Wildlife Management/Urinary Cartographer

Dante's favorite way to spend the day (besides bowling for those darn turkeys) is marking every tree on the property, seriously I don't know how he manages it but he does! All 2.6 acres and he finds every important tree to mark - gotta make sure those pesky deer know who's in charge around here.

He also likes to run the property line - turkey hunting I'm sure of it. And he's taking up professional "Lizard Spotting Duty" he likes to make sure all the local residents get a good chase, and regularly sends them scurrying into their nearest hiding spot.

Ziva? She likes to take things a bit easier.

Ziva
Senior Branch Manager
"Professional Woodchipper"

Well, lets just say a new love for sticks has been born - despite her scary accident a couple years ago.
I figure all things in moderation. She gets to chew on sticks when I'm watching her, and she doesn't eat the sticks, she seems to just enjoy destroying them into teensy tiny itty bitty little pieces.

And of course you can't forget she's the
Tennis Ball Princess
too!

Our Favorite Products!!

Our Favorite Products!

It's time for a recap about some of our favorite things. So without further ado, some products we've been impressed with (in no particular order):

Rogue River Trail in The Spring

Rogue River Trail
Oregon

It was calling our names, the river. A slight dampness in the air, movement on the breeze, the sound of the crashing and raging river full to the brink with snow melt and massive winter rain falls.

We had to get out and explore!

No Fences? No Problem

Fence Free
&
How We're Making it Work!

No fences? No problem. We've been living on our property now since October, some things have changed for example we'll have a house by the end of summer!! You can check out the posts for our fun home building adventure at out TwoPitsInAPod blog!

But one thing remains the same. We still don't have a fence!

Turns out fences are kind of expensive, and with all of our money being slowly funneled into our new house we just haven't been able to fence our whole property yet. But we figured out a great solution for dealing with no fences.

We just keep lots of treats handy!

Granted, this won't work for every dog. Dante and Ziva have never been runners. Some of our long time readers might remember our former foster Jack. He's so special he has his own category on our main page! He was notorious for running away and terrible recall, thankfully this isn't an issue we've ever had with our Dz Dogs (going to knock on some wood now!).

No fences for us means lots of treats, and the pups are ALWAYS supervised when outside.

Adventure Dogs!!

More New Friends!

First off if you missed our last post, Petsmart recently purchased Chewy.com and sadly Petsmart has antibully breed policies. We'd like to continue to spread this knowledge and encourage our furfriends to take their money elsewhere in support of our wonderful dogs.  #DontBullyMyBreed #LoversNotFighters. (Full Post HERE)

Recently we went on a fun new hike with a new friend of ours and her young pup Bandit! It was pretty funny, Dante and I have both met Bandit before, but he was new to Ziva. When we first got in the car we placed Bandit in a crate and loaded him up in the backseat, Dante and Ziva of course were in the far back section of my Rav4. And the whole way to the trail we heard, *whine (Bandit)....followed by a quiet *grrrrr... (Ziva).

It went something like this.

This Girl & Her Ball.

In case you didn't know, this girl here is obsessed...with tennis balls. I think probably more than half of my photos of her include a ball in her mouth or nearby somewhere!

A Girl's Best Friend.

Oh man! Spring in Southern Oregon is soo much different than the Willamette Valley. One of the things that's different is the rain, while we do get rain and people complain about it - it at least doesn't rain all day for a week straight like it did when we lived in the valley.

Here it at least stops every couple hours so you can get things done, and we might have a day with blue skies for a few hours and then rain for a few hours. It's awesome! And we've definitely been taking advantage of getting outside.

100% All-Natural Pork Rolls for Dogs

"We were sent Bravo! 100% All-Natural Pork Roll's  in exchange for an honest review. Dz Dogs only supports brands and products that we feel are relevant to our readers. This blog contains no affiliate links, all thoughts and opinions are our own."

Recently we were discussing the issue of rawhide because many pet owners have never heard of the dangers and need to be educated.  Dangers of Rawhide HERE.

But have you heard of the safer alternatives? We were recently contacted by Bravo! to do an honest review of their 100% All-Natural Pork Rolls and they were a huge hit with Dante and Ziva!

I barely got any pictures of Dante, he promptly thanked me for it and took off running to eat his in privacy away from Ziva.

Rawhide Is Not Worth The Risk

You see it everywhere, and almost always on sale at your local pet store.

Rawhide...

Not only is it Not Natural, but it's also Not Safe.

My veterinarian explained it to me once by saying, the way it goes in is how it comes out. Eeeeewww! Rawhide doesn't digest well and poses a serious risk of internal blockage and chocking. According to a study done by the Journal of Animal Science -
"Gastric digestibility of rawhide chews was low at six hours (7.6%) and slowly increased over time, reaching a maximum of 41.6% at 18 hours."
SOURCE:  De Godoy, Maria R. C. et al. “In Vitro Disappearance Characteristics of Selected Categories of Commercially Available Dog Treats.” Journal of Nutritional Science 3 (2014): e47. PMC. Web. 5 Apr. 2017.

18 hours and still not even halfway digested! Which is surprising when you think about it because it's a by-product of the beef meat industry right? Actually that's only a partial truth. It's more closely related to the leather industry than it is beef and A LOT of it comes from China.

To put the whole digestion issue into perspective for you:
