This month Chewy sent us "Stella & Chewy's Meal Mixer Super Blends!" In the Duck, Duck, Goose recipe.
One of the recent issues we've been having with Dante and Ziva is a lack of interest in eating their normal food. We feed a rotational diet and they've had this one before and liked it but aren't really into it right now. Normally I can return and swap bags if they don't like something, but this time I figured I was safe and dumped it into our airtight dog food canister and threw the bag away! So we're stuck finishing this bag.
One of the side-effects of antibiotics (at least the one Ziva is on) is that it can affect the appetite. So I've been trying to make meal times fun and exciting for the pups, we're mixing in coconut oil, and more recently this Stella & Chewy Superblend!
Things To Love About Stella & Chewy's "Duck, Duck, Goose" Superblend.
- This freeze dried food topper is made with freeze dried, raw duck and goose.
- Made with cage free poultry with no added hormones or antibiotics.
- Made with organic wholesome fruits and veggies.
- Grain free, gluten free, with no fillers, and no artificial preservatives or colors.
- Contains probiotics for healthy digestion.
- Made in Wisconsin!
These Superblends are great as a meal topper in our case, or if you want you can feed this as a complete and balanced dinner (if you choose to feed this as a balanced meal be sure to check out their feeding guidelines, and add a bit of water to help re-hydrate it).
If you are like us and don't want the hassle of feeding a raw diet, this is a great way to get the benefits of raw without the mess.
Dante and Ziva weren't sure they were big fans of the dried fruits in their food, in fact their first meal involved Dante delicately picking out all of the blueberries he could get! So on our second try I re-hydrated the mix with some water and he loved it!
"Mom, quit calling me a picky eater!" ~ Dante |
With how much exercise the pups get on a regular basis I don't like them skipping meals, especially since they have to be taking medicine while we battle these infections. So anything I can do to encourage them to eat makes me happy!
If you're interested in trying out a Stella & Chewy Superblend you can order yours online at Chewy.com they come in a couple different flavors including chicken and beef! Right now you can get your own Superblends on sale for $35.99 for a 16 ounce bag, or $8.99 for a 3.25 ounce bag with an additional 5% off if you choose to setup auto shipping which is great if you're feeding this as a complete diet.

ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
I wish we could share a taste! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWe have used Stella & Chewy's on occasion for some of our dogs. We can't use the ones with poultry though
ReplyDeleteOh yes, those lovely allergies. We understand completely! I'm always reading the ingredient list before bringing anything home!
DeleteGreat review! We're huge Stella and Chewy's; it's been the first food that Nola has truly thrived on. She's been eating their freeze dried raw but I grabbed the frozen raw this week and she adores it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteNola is such a doll, no wonder she's in such great shape!
Great review! We tried this product too, I'm in the process of writing our review. The collies loved this, and I will definitely have to get more!
ReplyDeleteHaha, oh Dante, you're just like my boy Buzz, he's the picky eater in our pack ;-) We've fed Stella & Chewy's before and it's definitely a great alternative to fresh raw food - and so convenient to take along on road trips.
