Spirit & Moons Falls Oregon

Spirit & Moon Falls, Oregon

Oh what a hike! Spirit and Moon falls are both located to the east of Cottage Grove Oregon, and quite a drive out on some Forest Service roads to find. They are located somewhat close to each other but they are separate falls in different locations.

Spirit Falls

Spirit Falls is a nice easy hike,
the trail is well marked and it dead ends at the waterfall. It's only about a half mile hike, you can hear the waterfall long before you can see it. According to what I could find online, Spirit falls is about a 60 foot waterfall. It was gorgeous, we only saw one other hiker while we were out.

Spirit Falls

The hike to get to Spirit Falls was a gentle decline, Dante and Ziva were thrilled that grandma decided to come this time. And once we got to the falls their was a nice little picnic table for us to take a break on.

Since it was such a short hike, we decided to check out Moon Falls which is in the same area.

Moon Falls

Moon Falls was AMAZING!! Also a short hike - only about half a mile again, Moon Falls however is a 125 foot drop! It was stunning. Even though I've lived in Oregon my whole life, I still find waterfalls stunning to behold.

Moon Falls through the trees!

Again we had the whole place to ourselves. So we did some poking around and hiked up a little ways to get a better view of the waterfall.

I can't wait to go back! It was so fun and easy. We took a lot of time just looking around and picture taking. Their is another waterfall in the area called Pinard that i'd like to hit next time.
